Cop loses Rs 76K to cyber thug
LUCKNOW, April 27 -- A cyber fraudster duped a head constable here of over Rs 76,000 by posing as a private bank representative and tricking him into verifying an OTP. As per a police official, head constable Avanish Bajpai, posted at the office of DCP (south), Lucknow, received a phone call from an unknown number on Thursday. The caller introduced himself as a bank representative and claimed to be assisting with issues related to Bajpai's credit card. When Bajpai said his only concern was a delay in receiving the credit card statement, the thug asked Bajpai to verify an OTP. As he did so, Rs 76,836 was deducted from his account.htc...
