Contractual employee of DUDA found murdered in Moradabad
Meerut, Aug. 29 -- A shocking murder has come to light in Moradabad, where a 30-year-old contractual employee of the District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) was shot dead late Wednesday night. His body was found slumped on the driver's seat of his car, parked barely 500 metres from his home in Sector 10 of New Moradabad.
The victim has been identified as Harshit Thakur, 30, who worked with DUDA on a contractual basis. Police said he sustained a gunshot wound to the head, which proved fatal. His car's front windshield was also damaged, indicating that the assailants fired from outside the vehicle while Harshit was driving. According to police, the incident took place between 2am and 4am. Harshit had dropped his friend Akash Mishra at his residence around 2 am and was returning home when the attack occurred. His body was later discovered inside the car around 4am. SP city Ranvijay Singh confirmed that the body was recovered with a bullet wound in the head. "The body has been sent for post-mortem after completing the legal formalities. The family has not yet filed a written complaint. Police are scanning CCTV footage," he said....
