LUCKNOW, Dec. 12 -- A city-based electrical contractor was found hanging at his residence in Vikas Nagar, late on Wednesday night. According to the family, the man had been under severe financial stress as several builders allegedly owed him money for work completed over the past few years.
The incident came to light when the family noticed he had not returned from the first floor of the house for a long time. When repeated knocks went unanswered, the door was broken open, and he was found dead. His son said the contractor had stepped out on Wednesday morning to demand pending payments from builders he had worked for. Before taking the extreme step, the contractor had reportedly sent messages to multiple individuals, alleging they had ruined his life by withholding dues. He had also mentioned that around Rs.4.7 lakh owed to him had not been cleared despite repeated requests.
