LUCKNOW, March 1 -- A 45-year-old contract worker (lineman) with the electricity department reportedly died after suffering an electric shock while carrying out repair work in Lucknow's Gudamba area early Saturday morning. Police said the deceased has been identified as Parshuram, a resident of Tarhiya village within the Saerpur police station jurisdiction. He was employed as a contractual worker in the Kalyanpur-Gudamba area. "According to information provided by his brother Mohan, the incident occurred at approximately 1:30 am on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Parshuram was repairing an electric pole on the main road near Jagrani Hospital when he suddenly came into contact with a live wire. He was declared dead at the scene," the police statement said....
