PRAYAGRAJ, April 30 -- Two youths stabbed a police constable on platform number 7 of Rambagh Railway Station late Monday night before fleeing the scene. The injured constable, Deepak Gupta, was admitted to SRN hospital. Following the incident, one constable each from GRP and RPF was suspended for negligence. According to police, constables Deepak Gupta (tourist police) and Prahlad Chauhan (Holagarh police), both from Ballia, had come to catch the Lichchhavi Express and were resting on a bench in plainclothes around 2am. They confronted two suspicious youths on the platform, and one was allegedly slapped. CCTV footage shows one youth fleeing, returning shortly with a knife, and stabbing Deepak in the stomach. He also attempted to attack the other constable before both fled. SP (GRP) Prashant Verma said efforts are underway to identify the attackers using CCTV footage, and a case has been registered. GRP constable Anit Mishra and RPF constable Awadhesh Kumar Singh have been suspended on charges of negligence. Awadhesh has been attached to the Varanasi office....
