Meerut, Aug. 23 -- A police constable, posted at Bithri Chainpur police station in Bareilly, died by suicide in his rented room. Senior police officers, including SP (North) Mukesh Chandra Mishra, rushed to the scene after being informed. The reason for his extreme step is not yet known. Inspector Chandra Prakash Shukla said the constable lived along with fellow constables. Police officials said on Thursday afternoon, while his colleagues were resting in one room, he went into another. When he did not return for long, his fellow constables checked and found the room locked from the inside. They discovered his body hanging from the ceiling fan. SP (North) Mukesh Mishra said, "The reasons are not clear yet. His family has been informed and the matter is under investigation."...
