PRAYAGRAJ, Jan. 12 -- Deputy leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Pramod Tiwari on Sunday said the Congress will force the government to reinstate the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), just as it compelled the government to withdraw the three farm laws earlier. Tiwari made the remark while addressing the concluding ceremony at the State Congress Seva Dal's special support training camp at the Magh Mela as the chief guest here. "The BJP's working style is similar to the British policy of divide and rule. It is not concerned with basic issues like inflation or unemployment," he said. The senior Congress leader said the replacement of MGNREGA will end rural development. Praising the Seva Dal, Tiwari said that it was formed against the atrocities of British rule and strengthened the Congress. "Loyalty, dedication, ideological knowledge, and discipline are the greatest strengths of the Seva Dal." Pramod Tiwari also said that the country was going through extremely difficult times. The increasing politics of hatred is becoming a means to fulfil self-interest, he alleged. Congress national secretary Rajesh Tiwari hoisted the flag amidst the chanting of Vande Mataram at the camp. Meanwhile, Congress workers, led by Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Ajai Rai, staged a dharna (sit-in protest) against the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Grameen (VB GRAM G), in Lucknow on Sunday. Rai alleged that the government is attempting to take away the right to work and the right to minimum wages by introducing the new law in place of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA)....
