LUCKNOW, May 17 -- The Congress will hold a special 'Sangathan Srijan' workshop here on Saturday to build a five-tier organisation and prepare the party for 2027 U.P. assembly elections. All India Congress Committee general secretary (incharge UP) Avinash Pandey and many other senior party leaders arrived in Lucknow on Friday to attend the workshop that would also be attended by the party's district and city unit presidents and those heading the party's frontal organisations. Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Rai has already said the party was committed to building a five-tier organisation (districts, party's divisions, block, nyay panchayat and booth) ahead of 2027 U.P. assembly polls. The party is in the process of constituting its state and district level executive committees. AICC secretary (co-incharge Uttar Pradesh) Rajesh Tiwari spoke to media persons about the Saturday's Sangthan Srajan workshop and said the work on building the organisation would be completed in next 100 days. The party has to constitute its units in 823 blocks, 3200 divisions, 8135 nyay panchayats and 162000 booths. He said the Congress would strengthen the organisation in all the 403 UP assembly seats in 2025. He said the party would also step up its activities at every level ahead of panchayat elections in 2026.
