PATNA, May 9 -- Ahead of the forthcoming assembly polls, the state Congress has come up with a QR based application system for ticket aspirants keen on fighting the forthcoming polls on the party ticket. The new system is a first of its kind initiative launched by the state Congress unit in a bid to bring in transparency in ticket distribution system and also select candidate having high winnability chances, said top party officials. "Yes, we have started this QR based application system for candidates who are keen to contest the polls by getting a ticket from the party. The candidates have to reply to questions and submit details as required in the application form , once they log into the app. The online system would be open for next few months," said Rajesh Kumar, state president of the Congress . Kumar, who was appointed as state Congress chief In March this year, maintained the new system is aimed at making the ticket distribution system more transparent and find suitable candidates for the party in the forthcoming assembly polls, which is pitted to be a fight between the opposition six party Mahagathbandhan and ruling National Democratic Alliance. The assembly poll is scheduled in October-November this year. Congress, RJD, three left parties and Vikassheel Insaan Party are constituents of the Grand Alliance, a part of the larger opposition bloc INDIA( Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance). Congress leaders said the QR based system has more than six questions where any applicant would have to submit details like name, district, assembly constituency, how many flags were distributed by the candidate during party's campaign like ' har ghar mein jhanda', attendance in 'Jan Aakrosh' meetings and also general meetings by the aspirants . Besides, the aspirant will also have to give details like number of followers in social media platforms and a bio-data. "All the details would be screened by our team in the war room set up for the upcoming polls. Then , it would be sorted out and selections would be made," said the state Congress president. Incidentally, the new system launched would be inviting applications from all 243 assembly seats with the state Congress chief emphasising that exercise would help party to identify its strength in all the assembly seats in the state and also prepare for the next parliamentary polls in 2029. " We want that winnable candidates get tickets this time and not those who make big claims of their popularity. This is a step where our party would gain more cadres and committed workforce," Kumar said....
