Congress drive will expose 'govt failures': Aradhana Mishra
LUCKNOW, Jan. 13 -- Uttar Pradesh Congress on Monday said the party will start its Samvidhan Samvad Mahapanchayats from Sitapur district on January 24 and run the 100-day campaign on various issues in the state, including deletion of voters' names under SIR.
Addressing a press conference at party headquarters, Uttar Pradesh Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra alleged that the BJP was busy stealing votes, hatching a conspiracy to end the legal existence of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), and plotting to delete names of voters through the SIR.
"But we are committed to preventing the BJP's nefarious plans from succeeding," she claimed.
"In the next 100 days, the Congress will expose the failures of the UP government before people through over 30 Samvidhan Samvad Mahapanchayats across the state, she said.
"The party has prepared for the panchayat elections under its organisation building campaign, and the Congress party will contest these elections independently," she added.
Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai prayed for the long and healthy life of senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on her birthday on Monday.
"She is a symbol of sensitivity, courage, and public struggle in the country's politics. She has consistently raised her voice strongly for the common people, especially women, youth, and marginalised sections of society. On her birthday, we pray for her long and healthy life," Rai said.
He along with Congress workers performed Rudrabhishek at the Mahamrityunjaya temple in Daranagar, Varanasi. He also said the party will contest MLC polls 2026 with its full might....
