Jaipur, Nov. 8 -- Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday took a dig at Bhajan Lal Sharma-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, accusing it of stalling or neglecting flagship projects started during the Congress regime. Calling the BJP's approach "regressive," Gehlot said the government's apathy toward institutions like the Rajiv Gandhi Fintech Institute, Gandhi Vatika Museum, Constitution Club, and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Governance shows it wants to push Rajasthan back into the "bimaru" (sick) category. In a post on social media, Gehlot said the Congress government had envisioned and executed several landmark institutions aimed at taking Rajasthan to new heights. Gehlot said the BJP government has either put the work related to these institutions on hold or failed to operationalise them despite completion. "These are not personal projects - they are Congress's contribution to the state's brighter future. I don't understand why the BJP government appears indifferent to the state's progress," he said. "Every such project tells the same story," Gehlot said, adding that the BJP's approach reflects a regressive mindset. "It seems the BJP wants to push Rajasthan back into the category of 'bimaru' states - no progressive government would ever think this way," he remarked. Reacting to Gehlot's remarks, BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj said that criticising the government had become a "daily routine" for the former chief minister. The BJP government has neither stalled nor slowed down any project related to public welfare. "The Gehlot government was never known for its work, but for its misdeeds," Bharadwaj said....
