Dehradun, Sept. 16 -- The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee (UKPCC) on Monday launched the nationwide "vote chor-gaddi chor" campaign in Dehradun, setting a target of collecting 5 lakh signatures from people within a month across all 70 assembly constituencies of the state. Suryakant Dhasmana, senior vice-president (organisation) of the UKPCC, said the campaign was an extension of the movement initiated after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged large-scale voter fraud in Karnataka. "Rahul ji exposed how over one lakh duplicate votes were created with the connivance of the BJP and the Election Commission. Across the country, Congress workers have raised the slogan "vote chor-gaddi chor", and it is now turning into a mass movement," he said.
