MEERUT, Aug. 23 -- Congress MP Imran Masood on Friday slammed the Centre for allowing India-Pakistan cricket match in the upcoming Asia Cup. "Our sisters lost their husbands, our soldiers were martyred, but they are busy making money from cricket. What kind of patriotism is this," he asked. Speaking at a meeting regarding district panchayat elections in his Lok Sabha constituency Saharanpur, Masood also hit out at the ruling party over the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, claiming it was passed without discussion. "The BJP wants to wipe out smaller parties. They have turned the ED into an all-powerful agency that can pick up anyone at will," he alleged. On the alleged vote theft, the MP announced that the Congress will hold a massive agitation on August 24 against 'electoral malpractices'. Masood alleged that in the 2024 LS polls, votes of genuine voters were deleted while entries were created for deceased individuals. "If votes are deleted in such large numbers in one state, how will democracy survive," he asked, saying the Congress was fighting to save democracy....
