Cong leaders booked for protest at CEC Agra house
Agra, Aug. 20 -- A case has been registered against three named individuals, including Congress's Agra city unit president Amit Singh, in connection with a protest staged outside the parental residence of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar in Vijay Nagar locality of Agra on Monday.
Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Akshay Mahadik informed that the case was filed under Sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 132 (criminal force against a public servant), and 191 (rioting) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The three accused include Amit Singh, Geeta Singh (vice president and woman activist), and former city unit president Ashwini Jain.
"The protest was completely peaceful, and Agra police are being unjust by registering a case of rioting against us," said Amit Singh.
Congress's Agra city unit president added that the CEC's parents were not present at the time of the protest....
