LUCKNOW, June 22 -- Two complex surgeries were performed at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (Civil) Hospital in the past two months. An Azamgarh woman underwent a surgery for a large incisional hernia, while a Sultanpur woman went under the knife for multiple cysts in uterus and ovaries, hospital officials said. Chief medical superintendent Dr Rajesh Kumar Srivastava praised the team of surgeons while emphasising the hospital's commitment to providing quality medical care to patients. According to Dr Anand Mishra, general surgeon at Civil hospital, 35-year-old Preeti, a resident of Azamgarh, was suffering from a large incisional hernia, and her anterior abdominal wall was badly affected. She had previously undergone two unsuccessful surgeries at a hospital in Azamgarh and her condition started deteriorating. She visited Civil hospital around two months back. The surgical team comprising Dr Anand Mishra, Dr Adil, Dr SK Singh, Dr Vivek Dwivedi, OT assistant Sudesh Kumar, Savita Chowdhary, Meenkar, and others performed the surgery and repaired the woman's anterior abdominal wall. The patient is now recovering well and has been discharged from the hospital, hospital officials said. In another case, 40-year old Meena from Sultanpur, who was experiencing abdominal pain and swelling, was diagnosed with a large tumour in uterus and ovaries, causing continuous bleeding. Since her haemoglobin level was five, she was made to undergo blood transfusion before the surgery. The same team of the doctors and other staff conducted the surgery and gave her a new lease of life, officials said....
