Lucknow, July 26 -- Thousands of students studying in state government-run primary and upper primary schools in Lucknow division are not getting direct benefit transfer (DBT) financial assistance of Rs 1,200 for uniforms, shoes, socks, stationery, and study material into the bank accounts of parents as the accounts are not linked with the Aadhaar cards.The DBT rules stipulate that the amount be transferred directly to the bank accounts of parents of students enrolled in Council schools.Divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob on Friday directed all district magistrates of Lucknow division to hold camps and complete formalities at the earliest. She said that due to the Aadhaar Cards not being linked to their bank accounts, they are not getting proper benefits of DBT schemes. Jacob said, "The list of such children whose Aadhaar Cards have not been made due to lack of birth certificates should be obtained from the education department, school-wise. As per the list received, camps should be organised at the block level in coordination with the Tehsil and block to get the birth certificates of the children made in the camp this month. Thereafter, Aadhaar Cards should also be made on a war footing." "Apart from this, to cover needy widows, details of the person who died should be obtained from Krishak Accident Portal, Disaster Relief Portal etc of the last one year, and their widows should be contacted and the form of Widow Pension Scheme should be filled and the pension should be approved soon," she said. "If a person does not have a death certificate, then that should also be made. Therefore, prompt compliance should be ensured as per the above and the progress should be informed," said Jacob....
