Community Kitchens for Poor Discussed
Lucknow, June 19 -- The Uttar Pradesh government initiated consultations on setting up a network of community kitchens providing hygienic, nutritious, and affordable meals to the underprivileged across the state at a stakeholder workshop held at State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) Bhawan in Lucknow on Wednesday.
Chaired by SUDA director Apoorva Dubey, the workshop brought together key stakeholders from various states that have already implemented successful community kitchen models. "Providing hygienic, tasty, and nutritious meals to urban poor residents is a priority for the state. We are learning from the best practices of other states to create a robust and sustainable model in UP," said Dubey.
Representatives from Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and organisations such as Akshaya Patra and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation shared detailed presentations of their models....
