Cold wave likely to abate from tomorrow: IMD
Lucknow, Jan. 15 -- The intense cold conditions prevailing in the state is likely to abate from Friday, weathermen said, adding that, there would be a rise in morning fog activity.
"Due to the drop in night temperatures in most parts of the state, a coldwave prevailing in Western Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Moradabad, and Rohilkhand divisions, is expected to continue till the night of January 15 night. There is a possibility of frost in some areas," the IMD said.
"Due to the influence of two successive Western Disturbances, a gradual increase of 4 to 6degC in the night temperature of the state is expected over the next 5 to 6 days. This will bring relief from the current cold wave in Western UP from January 15, and an increase in the area and density of fog is expected across the state. However, the fog is likely to dissipate as the day progresses, resulting in pleasant weather during the day." htc...
