LUCKNOW, May 9 -- The vice-chancellor of Lucknow University, Prof Alok Kumar Rai was conferred the honorary rank of Colonel Commandant during a piping ceremony organised at the university by Lucknow's National Cadet Corps (NCC) on Thursday. The rank was conferred by Additional Director General (ADG) UP NCC Directorate, Major General Vikram Kumar, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. It was conferred as a testament to Prof Rai's unwavering support and contributions to the NCC at LU and nurturing a dynamic and disciplined NCC environment on campus.
