CoE to come up for transporttraining in Rae Bareli
LUCKNOW, Aug. 19 -- In a push aimed at strengthening transport governance and road safety, the Uttar Pradesh transport department will establish a "Centre of Excellence" (CoE) at the Institute of Driving Training and Research (IDTR), Rae Bareli, with Pune-based Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT) as its knowledge and training partner.
Transport commissioner Brajesh Narain Singh has written to the principal secretary, transport, seeking early approval of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CIRT, which has already sent a draft agreement. The move follows a series of consultations between the department and CIRT since March this year.
"The CoE will focus on structured and outcome-oriented training for officers to help them adapt to emerging vehicle technologies, new engineering standards, and citizen-centric service delivery," Singh said.
The curriculum, according to him, will cover compliance with motor vehicle laws and AIS standards, road safety and crash management, BS-VI+ emission norms, alternative fuels including EVs and hydrogen, vehicle and driver testing systems, registered scrapping facilities and institutional operations....
