CoE in space tech at AKTU soon: VC
LUCKNOW, Oct. 14 -- A centre of excellence in space technology will soon come up at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), said vice chancellor Prof JP Pandey. As part of it, training on satellite design, satellite launch, satellite testing and data collection will be imparted to the students. A lab will also be set up, he added.
"The training will be imparted with the help of Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe)-a unit of Indian Space Research Organisation-to students studying space technology as minor in B Tech, M Tech or pursuing PhD in relevant field," Pandey said.
He also shared that start-ups in space technology will also be promoted. "The students will be able to get their patents, innovation and testing done in the laboratories under the guidance of researchers from the ISRO," he added. Pandey said as part of the initiative, while a hub will be created on the university campus, four government colleges will be directly connected to the initiative. htc...
