Dehradun, Sept. 21 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday visited disaster-hit areas in Nandanagar block of Chamoli district to assess the damage and inquire about the well-being of affected residents, officials said. The chief minister handed over cheques of Rs.5 lakh each to families of the deceased and directed officials to expedite the relief and restoration and leave no stone unturned in its timely completion. During the visit, Dhami conducted a field inspection of the villages of Kuntari Laga Phali and Kuntari Laga Sarpani, and an aerial survey of Dhurma, Mokh, Kundi, Bansbara, and Mokhmalla villages, reviewing the impact of the disaster and relief measures. He said that relief and rescue operations were being carried out on a war footing. "The government stands fully with the affected families in this hour of crisis," the chief minister said, while directing officials to ensure prompt restoration of basic amenities, electricity and drinking water supply, and road connectivity in the affected areas....
