LUCKNOW, July 31 -- Stressing on avoiding a pick-and-choose approach in development works, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said every region has its own identity that must be preserved and promoted through coordinated efforts. Holding a review meeting of Lucknow division with public representatives, he took stock of 3,397 development proposals worth Rs 42,891 crore. He described Lucknow not only as the hub of modernity, but also the cultural capital of Awadh, a vibrant symbol of art, literature and tradition. "Like Kashi, Lucknow's soul is eternal and its spirit universally resonant," he said. He noted Hardoi's deep-rooted legacy of truth and penance, and Rae Bareli's rich contributions to literature, the freedom movement and folk art. He stressed that development works should continue uninterrupted in all constituencies to eliminate any scope for pick and choose. Referring to Sitapur, the chief minister said its religious and spiritual stature is unparalleled, with Naimisharanya as its spiritual heart, where sages once transmitted the Vedic wisdom to the world. He further emphasised Lakhimpur Kheri's prominence on the global wildlife map due to Dudhwa National Park. "Timely execution, a clear action plan, continuous dialogue, and regular feedback are essential for ensuring quality and punctual completion of projects," he said.
