CM mourns death of ex-IAS officer
LUCKNOW, Nov. 10 -- Former IAS officer Jitendra Kumar passed away on Sunday at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, after a prolonged illness.
A 1990 batch IAS officer, Kumar retired from the post of additional chief secretary, Bhasa, on June 30 this year. Earlier, he held several important administrative posts. Jitendra Kumar was cremated at Bhainsakund in the evening.
The former IAS is survived by two daughters and a son.
He had been suffering from cancer and had been undergoing treatment for a long time.
Expressing his grief, chief minister Yogi Adityanath in a condolence message said Jitendra Kumar was a capable, hardworking, and well-mannered officer. While serving in various positions, he discharged his duties with complete honesty and integrity. His services will always be remembered, the chief minister added.
Senior officials and Jitendra Kumar's former colleagues also expressed deep sorrow over his passing, remembering him as a dedicated officer....
