LUCKNOW, Nov. 4 -- Congratulatory messages continued to pour in for Team India after their historic ICC Women's World Cup 2025 triumph on Sunday. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath took to his X handle to send out a message in Hindi: "Historic victory. Hearty congratulations to the world champion Indian women's cricket team! Heartfelt congratulations to the countrymen! You are all the pride of the nation." UP DGP Rajeev Krishna also congratulated Team India on the historic victory. He lauded deputy superintendent of police and cricketer Deepti Sharma for her "exemplary and historic performance" in India's title win at Navi Mumbai. The DGP added that her achievement is a matter of pride not just for the Indian women's cricket team, but also for the UP Police and the state. He extended his best wishes for her bright future. UP higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay, along with his wife, visited 'Player of the Tournament' Deepti Sharma's residence in Agra South Assembly constituency and honoured her parents and family members. "Deepti achieved this through hard work, discipline and dedication to the sport," he said. "Deepti Sharma is the pride of the nation, whose achievement has brought honour not only to Agra but to the entire country.
