Cloudy skies, some rain as monsoon retreats
LUCKNOW, Sept. 16 -- Cloudy weather is expected in the Tarai, Eastern and central parts of the state this week that may result in moderate to heavy rain expected in some places, weatherman said.
The forecast for Lucknow for the next 24 hours is generally cloudy sky with few spells of rain, thundershowers. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 30 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively. The Met department issued a warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning very likely at isolated places. On Monday, day and night temperature in the state capital was recorded at 30.4 and 26.7 degrees Celsius.
The southwest monsoon started withdrawing from western Rajasthan from September 14, three days before its normal onset of September 17. The line of withdrawal of the monsoon is passing through Sri Ganganagar, Nagaur, Jodhpur, Barmer. Conditions are favourable for its withdrawal from some more parts of Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat in the next two days. The low pressure area over west central Bay of Bengal weakened over Telangana.
The state forecast is rain/thundershower very likely at a few places over the West UP and very likely at many places over East UP....
