Clouds gather, showers return to Lucknow
Lucknow, July 17 -- The state capital is likely to witness an overcast sky with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers, according to the weather department. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 32degC and 23degC, respectively.
On Wednesday evening, several parts of the state capital experienced a brisk 30-minute downpour. The day's high and low were recorded at 34.4 degree C and 24.6 degree C, respectively.
Churk recieved maximum of 36.8 mm rainfall, Orai 25.5 mm, Varanasi airport 22.6 mm, Fursatganj 21.4 mm, Najibabad 18 mm, Bahraich 17.8 mm, Ballia 14 mm. State forecast is rain/thundershower very likely at many places over West Uttar Pradesh and most places in East Uttar Pradesh. Also, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is very likely at isolated places over the state. Heavy to very heavy rain is very likely at isolated places, an official said.
The low pressure area formed on the east coast is moving in the west-north-west direction and concentrating as a well-defined low pressure area around North Jharkhand and moving in the west-north-west direction towards Uttar Pradesh....
