Climate change, global warming discussed at UPPCB lecture series
LUCKNOW, April 29 -- The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) organised its 'Expert Lecture Series' at its Lucknow headquarters on Tuesday, with an inaugural session centred on climate change and global warming.
The series is designed to bring distinguished experts together to deliberate on pressing environmental concerns and actionable solutions.
RP Singh, chairman, UPPCB, inaugurated the initiative by welcoming the first speaker, Pradeep Srivastava, former deputy director, Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow. Srivastava delivered a detailed presentation on "Climate Change and Global Warming: Challenges Ahead," covering its accelerating impact on ecological balance, public health and economic stability.
He also used 'scientoons'-science communicated through cartoons-to make the subject more engaging and accessible to the audience.
Addressing the session, Singh said the lecture series aimed at integrating scientific knowledge with policymaking and implementation. He added that such interactions would broaden perspectives and prepare the organisation to respond effectively to environmental challenges.
