VARANASI, Nov. 28 -- A 32-year-old man working as a Munshi (clerk) at a mining site in Mirzapur district died on Thursday morning after allegedly being struck by a poclain machine during operations in Dhuria village of Magan Deewana hill under Ahraura police station limits. Police identified the deceased as Jaihind Yadav, a resident of Mubarakpur village in Chandauli district. He was on duty at the site when the incident occurred. Circle officer Chunar, Majari Rao, said the poclain was being operated around 7:30 am while Jaihind was standing close to it. As the driver turned the machine, it allegedly hit him, causing him to fall and die on the spot. Following the incident, several locals gathered and raised slogans in protest. Sub divisional magistrate Chunar, Rajesh Verma, along with the circle officer and teams from Ahraura and Adalhat police stations, reached the site.
