MEERUT, Nov. 16 -- A surprise visit by senior superintendent of police (SSP) Vipin Tada to the Sadar Bazar police station on Friday night led to the suspension of inspector Munesh Kumar Sharma after the officer allegedly failed to meet basic standards of cleanliness, record upkeep and operational readiness. Officials said the SSP arrived without prior intimation and found waste piled up around the office and barracks, along with damaged walls and unattended garbage. He reviewed the station's registers and noted that several entries were incomplete. During the inspection, the SSP sought details of ten history-sheeters associated with the station, but the inspector allegedly could not name them. He was also unable to identify five key scrap dealers from the Sotiganj area. The SSP ordered his suspension on the spot and directed a departmental inquiry under the Civil Lines circle officer (CO). He also expressed displeasure over the presence of Cantt CO Naveena Shukla during the inspection. According to officials, the action followed repeated reminders to improve the station's condition and address public complaints. The SSP said negligence by personnel will not be tolerated and stressed the need for discipline, accountability and proper maintenance across all police stations.htc...
