PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 15 -- A Class 12 student was found hanging in a room in Prayagraj's Tagore Town area early Saturday morning after which his father, a Home Guard personnel, alleged that his son had been murdered and then hanged to make it appear like suicide.Based on the father's complaint, the police have taken a girl into custody for questioning following his allegation that the boy was being blackmailed. Georgetown station house officer Rohit Kumar Tiwari said the body has been sent for post-mortem and the cause of death will be established only after the report is received. Further investigation is underway, according to the police.The incident occurred after the 17-year-old boy went to stay at his uncle's adjoining residence on Friday night, as his mother was away, visiting his sister. According to the father, the boy's room was found locked from the inside around 6am. After the boy's elder brother forced open the locked channel gate and the bedroom door, they discovered the body hanging from a noose. A handwritten note recovered from the scene reportedly read: "I love you, but I can no longer live with you. You die, I have no business with you." The teenager also attended a private coaching centre where he befriended a girl, according to his father.The father claimed that this girl had sent a message to his son's phone the previous night saying, "Die." The father further alleged that the girl lived in a private hostel in Tagore Town. He claimed that she had been blackmailing his son for money, had taken large sums already, and when he refused to pay more, she threatened to implicate him in a false rape case.He also alleged that the girl, along with her roommate and other friends, had issued death threats to his son.
