Class 12 student kills 18-month-old boy, conceals body in trunk
Meerut, Oct. 16 -- In Bulandshahr's Syana area, an 18-month-old boy was strangled to death by his neighbour. The boy's body was later found hidden inside a trunk at the accused's home in Nityanandapur Nangli village. Police have arrested the suspect, a class 12 student, and are investigating the motive behind the killing.
The child went missing on Tuesday evening while playing outside his house. His worried family immediately started searching for him and informed the police. Acting on suspicion, officers searched the home of the neighbour, where they discovered the body stuffed inside a box beneath a quilt.
The accused tried to mislead everyone by pretending to help in the search. "He was actively participating in the search operations with the family and villagers to divert suspicion," police officials said.
The child'd grandfather said, "My grandson was playing outside around 5 pm when Ankush took him away. We have no ongoing enmity with his family. There was an old dispute between our elders, but it was long settled" SP City S Prasad said, "Initial investigation suggests the boy was strangled to death."...
