Class 10 girl falls from thirdfloor of school building, stable
LUCKNOW, Aug. 6 -- A Class 10 student was injured after she accidentally fell from the third floor of a private school building in Gomti Nagar on Tuesday morning, police said.
The incident occurred at around 10:30am when she was standing near the railing after stepping out of her classroom, they added. Preliminary probe indicates that it was an accidental fall, but officials said they are reviewing whether safety protocols on the upper floors were adequate. According to eyewitnesses, the girl student suddenly lost balance and fell down.
Fellow students raised an alarm, following which the school administration rushed her to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences. Her family and police were also informed. Her father Santosh Singh, a deputy superintendent of police (CO) posted in Bangarmau, Unnao, said his daughter is now out of danger and is receiving treatment under medical supervision.
