PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 4 -- Violence broke out during the fourth phase of polling for the Uttar Pradesh Bar Council elections, following which the Civil Lines police station registered cross FIRs from both sides. Videos related to the assault and an alleged attempt of self-immolation inside the police station have gone viral on social media. According to the police, a woman advocate and Bar Council member candidate, Shraddha Shukla, lodged a named FIR alleging assault, misbehavior and snatching of her gold chain during the polling process. She accused supporters of rival candidate Devendra Mishra, including Harshit Mishra, Garvik Mishra, and 30-40 unidentified persons, of attacking her. In her complaint, Shukla stated that she, along with her associate Abhay Singh and driver Ravi Maurya, was abused, dragged on the ground, and beaten during the incident. Meanwhile, from the opposing side, advocate Prashant Singh filed a separate complaint alleging that Shakti Singh instigated Shraddha Shukla to commit self-immolation inside the Civil Lines police station. The complaint also mentioned that videos of the incident have gone viral on social media. Civil Lines station house officer Ramashray Yadav confirmed that named FIRs have been registered based on complaints from both parties and that the matter is currently under investigation....
