Lucknow, Aug. 3 -- The Lucknow Development Authority should take up the Qaiserbagh roundabout work and start the junction re-designing work as a priority. That was the view taken by the divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob at a review meeting focusing on the Qaiserbagh area, on Saturday. Chairing the meeting she said that if the traffic lights installed at the Qaiserbagh crossing are not functional, then they should be removed. During the meeting, the officials concerned were told that the work of denting-painting, flooring, facade lights, signage of shops is to be done underground in Qaiserbagh, as part of the second phase of the Smart City project. In this sequence, Jacob directed the officials that the work of the second phase of Qaiserbagh should start immediately without delay so that there can be uniformity in the heritage zone. The Jalkal GM was instructed to look for the fault somewhere in the sewer line in Qaiserbagh, which the commissioner said was causing the water-logging in the area. She said that the fault should be found and repaired immediately so that the problem of water-logging is solved.While instructing the LESA officials, Jacob said that for shifting the telecom cables, wires and poles at the Qaiserbagh intersection, the concerned officer should go and inspect the spot. The electric poles installed at Qaiserbagh should be shifted back, so that the road width can be increased. She said that the functioning of CCTV cameras and speakers installed at various places by Smart City should be checked. If the CCTV cameras and speakers are found faulty anywhere, then it should be ensured that they are repaired immediately. Instructing the MD, city transport, she said that buses should be operated regularly according to the prepared route chart. Penalty should be imposed against those found parking buses outside the depot. The RTO and police should jointly expedite the changeover work and issue immediate challans for parking tempos/taxis and battery rickshaws at the crossing.
