PRAYAGRAJ, July 6 -- While rejecting the bail plea of an accused who circulated indecent photographs of a woman, the Allahabad high court recently observed that digital technology is altering the face of crime and indecent pictures of a person, when circulated on public platforms by social media, can destroy lives. With this, Justice Ajay Bhanot dismissed the bail plea of one Ramdev of Prayagraj who was accused of circulating indecent photographs of the woman on social media. The FIR was registered against Ramdev at Utraon police station of Prayagraj. "Digital technology is altering the face of crime. Indecent pictures of a person when circulated on public platforms by social media can destroy lives. This is the hard social reality. The offenders have to be booked and the trial has to be concluded in expeditious time frame," the court said. "The indecent photographs of the victim were circulated by the applicant on whatsapp. Some of the images had been recovered and sent for examination before the FSL. The FSL report is awaited," the court said....
