PRAYAGRAJ, May 21 -- To create a better learning environment for young children, the UP government is providing child-friendly furniture to 19,081 Anganwadi centres located within government primary and composite schools (classes 1 to 8) across the state. The directorate of basic education has released a budget of Rs 47.70 crore, at a rate of Rs 25,000 per Anganwadi centre, to furnish these centres with desks and chairs suitable for children's use. The initiative aims to make the centres more conducive to early learning and child development. Officials from the state's basic education department said that instructions for purchasing furniture have been sent to all district-level Basic Shiksha Adhikaris (BSAs).
