PRAYAGRAJ, July 28 -- A boy tragically died after accidentally falling into a water-filled pit while playing with other children away from home in Balipur Mohdinnagar village, under the Hathigawan police station area of Pratapgarh on Sunday. By the time his family reached the spot and pulled him out, he had already stopped breathing, police said. As per reports, Sanjay Saroj, a resident of the village, works at a brick kiln. He had four children. On Saturday evening, his youngest son, 7-year-old Saurabh, was playing about 500 meters away from home with other local children, when he accidentally slipped into a pit filled with water and began to drown. The other children, frightened, ran back to the village shouting for help. Upon hearing the news, family members and local villagers rushed to the spot. They managed to pull Saurabh out of the water, but he was already unresponsive, police officials said. Village head representative Sanjeev Yadav informed the police about the incident.
