Dehradun, Dec. 3 -- Chief secretary Anand Bardhan on Tuesday reviewed key development schemes, district innovations, and progress on central and state-funded projects in Champawat, directing officials to step up capital expenditure and strengthen monitoring to ensure rapid and quality development in the district. At a comprehensive review meeting held at the Champawat district auditorium, Bardhan sought detailed updates on department-wise progress and instructed officials to complete all projects within stipulated timelines. Major schemes discussed included the Golju Corridor, agriculture college, paramedical college, Chhamniya sports college, drinking water scheme, and the NH Swala improvement project. District magistrate Manish Kumar presented a detailed overview of each project. To boost angling tourism in the region, Bardhan directed officials to organise an annual Anglers' Meet in Pancheshwar. He also reviewed the Champawat-Lohaghat master plan and instructed authorities to incorporate all major future-oriented projects, including railway expansion, into the plan. The chief secretary further stressed the need for developing underground electrification systems and preparing a long-term maintenance strategy for essential services.
