LUCKnOW, July 12 -- Four cases of chickenpox were reported from Rahim Nagar in Lucknow's Mahanagar area, following which a health department team inspected the area on Friday and distributed medicines to the affected individuals, stated authorities. A team from the PHC Mahanagar, accompanied by ASHA and ANM workers, conducted a survey of 150 households. They distributed ORS, zinc and other medicines to the patients. The team found that the disease had been spreading in the area for several days, but no complaints had been registered with the CMO's office control room. CMO Dr NB Singh stated that a team has been deployed in the area, and a letter has been sent to the Lucknow Municipal Corporation authorities for sanitation purposes. Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral disease and the symptoms include itchy rashes, fever, and general discomfort. It can lead to complications, especially in vulnerable groups.
