Dehradun, Nov. 18 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday directed all district magistrates to conduct a thorough investigation into Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) issued in their districts over the past three years and initiate action against those involved in issuing them fraudulently. The directions came during a virtual review meeting held with district magistrates and senior officials to assess development work, grievance redressal and administrative reforms. Dhami said irregularities in the issuance of PRCs would not be tolerated and asked officials to ensure strict monitoring at every level. Reiterating the government's vision of projecting Uttarakhand as the "spiritual capital" of India and the world, the chief minister proposed developing one village in every block as a 'spiritual village' on a pilot basis. He said such villages would house yoga training centres, Ayurvedic healthcare facilities, meditation and mental wellness programmes, and platforms for spiritual learning. "This will strengthen the physical and mental well-being of local residents, while also giving Uttarakhand a new identity linked to health and tourism," Dhami said. In the meeting, the CM reviewed ongoing development projects and praised officials for successfully organising the state's Silver Jubilee Foundation Day events. He said the President and the Prime Minister had given "valuable guidance" for the state's development during the celebrations. He outlined the plan of building the state as a spiritual hub. The CM stressed on promoting local culture and economy through the 'One District, One Fair' initiative.
