Jaipur, Nov. 3 -- Two committees have been formed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Rajasthan Education Department on Sunday to probe the death of the 9-year-old student who fell from the fourth floor of a prominent private school in Jaipur on Saturday, officials said. The regional head of the CBSE in Ajmer, Shyam Kapoor, said, "Since the school is recognised by the CBSE board, a two-member committee comprising a principal of any other CBSE school in Jaipur and a senior official from our regional head quarter in Ajmer was formed. This committee will visit the school on Monday and will check the lapses and negligences that caused the incident. The committee will also probe whether the school building was set up as per the by-laws for the school buildings laid out by the education ministry." Meanwhile, the education department has formed another five-member committee led by the Jaipur district education officer (DEO) for elementary level, Ramniwas Sharma. Soon after the incident on Saturday, Sharma along with senior police officers visited the school. "I wanted to speak to the principal, the victim's class teacher, and other staff. But nobody was found in the school except for the security guards. I tried to contact them over the phone but there was no response yet. Our committee will visit the school again on Monday." "The FSL team has collected the blood samples in front of us from the accident spot. They are also collecting the CCTV footage from the school. We are also checking whether all the norms for running a school building are in place. We will also coordinate with the CBSE team and ask for registration and license details of the school. Necessary action will be taken accordingly." The incident took place on Saturday morning at the private school in Jaipur when the Class-4 student was seen (in the CCTV footage) jumping from the fourth floor of her school building, police said. The victim's ribs got broken due to the accident that damaged her other organs, causing death, doctors said. An autopsy has been conducted, police said. The victim's parents filed an FIR against the school administration under section 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS. The SHO of Mansarovar police station, Lakhan Singh Khatana, said police are probing the possible lapses that led to the incident. "Victim's classroom was on the ground floor... It seems that the floor manager was either absent or was negligent to his duty when the victim went to the fourth floor from her class after the classes. Prima facie, the building was also a 10-storey building that violates the by-laws for the school building construction as per the education ministry," Khatana said. Meanwhile, education minister, Madan Dilawar on Sunday visited the family of the victim and offered his condolences. HT also called the principal of the school, Indu Dubey, for a statement. But till going to print, there was no response....
