PRAYAGRAJ, April 28 -- An alleged cattle smuggler was arrested by Antu police in Pratapgarh following an exchange of fire in the forest area near Ramgarhi village on Sunday night. The suspect sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during the encounter, while his accomplice managed to flee the scene. Police recovered tools used for cattle slaughter, a country-made pistol, and a motorcycle from the accused's possession. The injured suspect has been admitted to a medical college for treatment. The accused has been identified as Suleman, a resident of Rampur Kurmiyan village under Kandhai police station limits in Pratapgarh. The police recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol, a motorcycle, and tools for cattle slaughter from his possession.
