Cattle smuggler held in Pratapgarh
PRAYAGRAJ, April 28 -- An alleged cattle smuggler was arrested by Antu police in Pratapgarh following an exchange of fire in the forest area near Ramgarhi village on Sunday night. The suspect sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during the encounter, while his accomplice managed to flee the scene.
Police recovered tools used for cattle slaughter, a country-made pistol, and a motorcycle from the accused's possession. The injured suspect has been admitted to a medical college for treatment.
The accused has been identified as Suleman, a resident of Rampur Kurmiyan village under Kandhai police station limits in Pratapgarh. The police recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol, a motorcycle, and tools for cattle slaughter from his possession.
ASP (East) Alok Bhati stated that the injured suspect, identified as Salman, has six criminal cases registered against him under the Gangsters Act and the Cow Slaughter Prevention Act....
