PRAYAGRAJ, April 30 -- The lawyers belonging to the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Allahabad Bench, continued to abstain from judicial work for the second consecutive day on Tuesday in protest against the curtailment of the jurisdiction of this Tribunal. As part of their agitation, the lawyers, under the aegis of the CAT Bar Association, continued to sit on a dharna in the premises of the tribunal in support of their demand. They have resolved to boycott judicial work on April 30 as well. According to the general secretary of the CAT Bar Association, Jitendra Nayak, despite repeated communications, the chairman of the principal bench has continued to disregard the concerns raised by the CAT Bar Association, Allahabad Bench. "The principal bench has persistently accepted cases that fall squarely within the territorial jurisdiction of the Allahabad Bench, in violation of the rules of the Central Administrative Tribunal Act," a release issued by the CAT Bar Association stated.
