PRAYAGRAJ, May 5 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP and the party's Uttar Pradesh in-charge, Sanjay Singh, on Sunday claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s announcement of caste enumeration in the upcoming census is aimed at diverting public attention from the Pahalgam terror attack. He alleged that the caste census announcement is merely a political slogan for the forthcoming Bihar elections. Addressing media persons at the Circuit House, Singh said the entire country is waiting to see how the government would retaliate against the Pahalgam attack and reclaim Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). "Everyone wants to know what steps will be taken to eliminate the terrorists who have challenged our sovereignty by launching a cowardly attack on Indian soil," he said. Singh added that both the nation and the AAP want decisive action against the terrorists. "Our demand is that the terrorists be eliminated by entering POK, and that POK be taken back, as it belongs to us," he asserted. On the caste census issue, Singh said it must indeed be conducted. "If the BJP is serious about it, then it should announce a fixed date for the enumeration," he added.
