Cash-handling employee absconds with nearly Rs 70L
JHANSI, Oct. 17 -- A man employed by a cash-handling company contracted by the State Bank of India to transport cash from the Jhansi railway booking office has absconded with Rs 69.78 lakh.
According to contract company's Gwalior-based manager, Gautam Garg, the accused, Anshul, had collected Rs 69,78,642, which included ticket booking amounts and fines collected over the past three days. He collected the cash and reached the SBI branch but did not enter. He then vanished, and his phone was switched off. A report has been lodged at Nawabad police station.
