Kanpur, Feb. 21 -- Four members of a family, including a couple and a two-year-old child, were killed and six others injured after their speeding car veered off the road and plunged into a roadside pond near the Beri Sawai bend on the Kalyanpur-Shivli road late Friday. The family was returning to their residence in Kalyanpur, after attending a ritual in Auraiya when the driver reportedly lost control. Local villagers rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. All ten passengers were rushed to a hospital in Shivli, where four were pronounced dead on arrival. The deceased are Rajkishore Agnihotri, 60, his wife Snehlata, 55, their relative Himanshu alias Rakhi, 30, and two-year-old son Shiv.
