Car crashes into tree while saving a dog, one dead
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 20 -- A speeding car lost control while trying to save a dog and crashed into a roadside tree late on Thursday night near High Court.
In the accident, 27-year -old Saurabh Singh, son of a police inspector, seated in the back seat was killed while two other youths were injured.
The Cantonment police station got a postmortem conducted on Friday and handed over the body to the family members.
Sub inspector Manoj Kumar Singh, a native of Saidpur Garhwa in Ballia district, is currently posted at the DIG's office at Kumbh Mela and lives in Preetam Nagar locality of the city. His elder son, Saurabh Singh, was preparing for competitive exams while his younger son, Gaurav Singh, is an engineer in the Merchant Navy.
Family members said that Saurabh Singh had gone to gym on Thursday as usual. From there, he was going somewhere in the car with his friends Himanshu Pathak and Abhishek.
As the car reached near the Mazaar near the High Court, it went out of control and hit a tree on the roadside while trying to save a dog.
The Cantonment police reached the spot and sent the three injured youths to SRN Hospital where doctors declared Saurabh Singh dead due to serious head injuries....
