LUCKNOW, Dec. 19 -- A car nearly turned into ashes after it caught fire on the Shaheed Path near Sector J of the area here on Thursday afternoon. No injuries were reported as the driver and a co-passenger managed to get out of the vehicle in time. Mamchand Bargujar, fire station officer at PGI, said, "An SUV owned by Khurram Asif caught fire while it was in motion on the highway. Asif, a property dealer who also owns a petrol pump, was travelling with his driver Kamil, who was driving at the time of the incident." He added, "Both the occupants noticed a spark inside the engine followed by flames. They immediately stopped the vehicle and rushed out". The fire was later brought under control by fire brigade. Officials said within about 20 minutes the flames engulfed the vehicle. The exact cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.htc...
