Camps lined up on World Blood Donors Day
LUCKNOW, June 14 -- If you wish to save life and get your free blood screening, donate a unit on world blood donor's day (June 14) on Saturday. Several organisations are holding blood donation camps, and apart from them all blood banks will accept donations in routine. The blood you donate will be screened for several diseases including HIV, hepatitis, free of charge and in case any sample tests positive, the donor shall be informed and guided for treatment.
A unit of blood is processed and its components, including red blood cells, plasma, and platelets, are separated and used for patients.
Chief medical superintendent (CMS) of Ram Sagar Mishra Joint hospital, Dr V K sharma, informed media by sharing a press release on Friday,saying that on June 14, Blood Bank team from Balrampur hospital, will be organising a blood donation camp, at RSM Joint hospital, which will be inaugurated by Principal Secretary, Medical Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Parth Sarthi Sen Sharma.
